Karachi: Man booked for killing workshop owner

KARACHI: A middle-aged man was gunned down in a Malir locality on Wednesday, police said.

The killing took place within the remit of the Khokhrapar police station.

The police said 51-year-old Hasan Bakhsh was shot dead inside his auto shop in Khokhrapar No. 5. He sustained a bullet wound in the chest and died instantly.

A duty officer at the Khokhrapar police station said that the victim along with a son, Sultan, used to sleep in the workshop. On Wednesday morning, a man, Asif Hanif, came to the workshop and shot Hasan Bakhsh. However, the victim’s son
overpowered him and people from the neighbourhood also gathered on the spot. Subsequently, the suspect was handed over to the police.



The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The victim was a father of seven children.

The police said that the suspect had some monetary dispute with the auto-workshop owner.

A case (FIR 15/2012) was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code against Asif at the Khokhrapar police station on a complaint of the victim’s son.
