Lahore: Four including a woman killed in City
LAHORE: Four persons including a woman died over different reasons in the City on Tuesday. According to the details, three persons namely Hameeda Bibi, Malik Ahmed and Shabbir sustained multiple injuries during road accidents in separate areas of the City.
The injured people were taken to the Emergency Department of the General Hospital where they breathed their last on Tuesday. The bodies were handed over to the bereaved families after police completed necessary medico-legal formalities.
Similarly, a body of a 40-year-old unnamed man was found from Abdullah Gul Interchange Ring Road, named in services of Turkish President Abdullah Gull, in North Cantonment police area. Police after recovering the body made numerous announcements in nearby mosques but none of the citizens claimed to own the body, which was shifted to the City morgue for autopsy.
Dacoit’s bullets take life of his own accomplice: A dacoit was accidentally killed by the firing of his own accomplice during robbery bid in Johar Town police area on Tuesday. Police investigators said that they learned two dacoits intercepted a Dubai returned Air Traffic Controller Muhammad Hussain along with his friend Javed Iqbal riding a car (UB-180) near its residence B3-51, Johar Town.
They held hostage the victims on gunpoint. “They ordered me to open the gate of the car but when I opened it, one of the dacoits was hit by the gate and fell down,” Muhammad Hussain, reportedly, stated to police. He said meanwhile, the second dacoit sprayed bullets, which accidentally pierced into the body of his own accomplice. The alleged dacoit died on the spot whereas his accomplice fled the scene. Police have lodged an FIR against dacoits on the statement of Javed Iqbal.
A senior police officer, however, said as, “I suspect, the victims have killed the dacoit but they are reluctant to own the incident to avoid legal proceedings”. He, however, believed the situation would be clear within few days. Later, the body of the deceased man was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
