Karachi: Two ‘heroin smugglers’ held
KARACHI: A raid by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday led to the arrest of two suspected international drug smugglers and the seizure of 19 kilograms of heroin, worth about $20 million. SSP Mohammad Fayyaz Khan of the CID said the police conducted the raid acting on a tip-off in the Natha Khan Goth of Shah Faisal Colony.
After facing some resistance, the law enforcers took Anwer Bux and Shahid Ahmed Khan into custody. However, the ringleader, Akbar Khan, managed to escape under the cover of fire. The suspects were taken to the investigation unit for interrogation. A search of their hideout resulted in the recovery of 19 kilograms of heroin.
