Robber shot dead in Lahore
LAHORE: A robber was shot dead by his accomplice when the former opened indiscriminate fire on robbery victims on resistance in the Johar Town police limits on Tuesday. Police have removed the body of accused robber to morgue for autopsy and registered a case against him and his accomplice. However, the deceased could not be identified till the filing of this report.
A police official said that one Muhammad Hussain, who is posted as Air Traffic Controller in Dubai, was on his way on a car along with his brother-in-law. As he reached his house in Johar Town, two robbers intercepted them and demanded cash and valuables. In the meantime, Hussain’s brother-in-law Javed Iqbal opened the door of car with force to hit one of the robbers. As a result, one robber fell on the ground while the other opened indiscriminate fire. One of the bullets hit accused person’s accomplice and claimed his life on the spot while the shooter managed to escape.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of Javed Iqbal. Three die: Three persons, who had received injuries in separate road accidents during the last couple of days, succumbed to injuries at local hospitals on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Fahmida Bibi, a resident of Kahna, Malik Ahmad, a resident of Shahdra Town and Shabir Ahmad, a resident of Manga Mundi. Bodies were handed over to families after completing legal formalities.
