Islamabad: Stolen gold, diamonds recovered
ISLAMABAD: The Kotli Sattian Police have recovered gold and diamonds worth Rs75 million, which were stolen from the house of Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan, a political figure, and arrested the ringleader of the gang active in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, police said.
Police said that a gang of burglars broke into the house of Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan in Sector F-10, Islamabad, and took away gold ornaments and diamond sets worth Rs75 million, a few weeks back.
The Kotli Sattian Police arrested the ringleader of the gang identified as Usman Ghani during crackdown on anti-social elements. The suspect confessed to committing robberies and burglaries, including the one at the house of Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan, police said, adding that police recovered all gold and diamonds stolen from his house.
The city police officer (CPO), Rawalpindi, appreciated the efficiency of the Kotli Sattian Police and announced rewards for them.
