Karachi: 3 charged in Shershah scrap market case
KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No 1 on Friday framed charges against three accused, Shafique Magsi, Lal Muhammad Magsi and Saleem, in the Shershah scrap market carnage case. It also issued notices to the witnesses for recording their testimonies on February 28.
ATC No 1 Judge Bashir Ahmad Khoso while hearing the case, pronounced the charges against the accused. He questioned accused: “Are you admitting the crime or charges be framed against you in the case?” All the three accused refused to confess the crime and said that they would face trial before the court of law. It is pertinent to mention here that some unidentified armed men opened fire in the Shershah scrap market in October 2010 in which over 12 people were killed. Pak Colony police had register a FIR under Section 324, 386, 302, 34 (read with 7-A of the Anti-Terrorism Act). ATC’s Administrative Judge Justice Sajjad Ali Shah on behalf of lack of evidences had released nine suspects.
