Islamabad: Gang depriving women of gold in public transport busted
ISLAMABAD: The CIA Police Monday arrested two women and their accomplice for their involvement in taking away gold ornaments of female passengers during travel and also nabbed five others for having pistols, repeater gun and wine, the police spokesman said.
CIA Incharge Bashir Ahmed Noon constituted a special team to trace out persons involved in depriving passengers of their valuables during travel. The team, headed by Sub-Inspector Tehseen and including ASIs Zafar Iqbal and Tahir Rauf along with policewomen, succeeded in arresting two women and their accomplice who used to deprive female passengers of their gold ornaments in local transport.
The nabbed persons arrested from the Koral Police area were identified as Safia Bibi, Shamim Bibi and Ejaz who confessed to their involvement in several such incidents. Further investigation is underway and police have initially recovered gold ornaments, worth Rs300,000, including gold rings and bangles, from them.
Saadia Javed of Chaklala and Farzana Jabeen of Pakistan Town have been contacted by the CIA Police for handing them over their gold ornaments.
