Rawalpindi: Woman shoots shopkeeper dead
RAWALPINDI: An incident of firing on a shopkeeper by a lady customer for demanding early payments shocked the city on Tuesday. A female customer shot dead a young shopkeeper upon demanding money for grocery items she bought from his store in Paryal, the area in the limits of Police Station (PS) Chontra.
According to Sub Inspector (SI) Allah Baksh, who is also handling the case, one Yasir son of Muhammad Mushtaq was running a general store at Peryal from where a lady Yasmin wife of Ifran used to buy grocery on credit.
On the day of incident, Yasir asked Yasim to clear his dues which were acceded to Rs 150,000 after which the lady asked the shopkeeper to come her home to get the money. He added that Yasir reached the accused home where she asked him to sit in courtyard as she would prepare a cup of tea for him. The accused went to kitchen and whipped out a pistol and started firing on Yasir killing him at the spot. The accused, later, managed to escape from the scene, he said.
Upon getting information, police reached the spot and moved the dead body to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for autopsy, IO stated. An application has been filed with PS Chontra for registration of murder case by the father of the deceased, Allah Baksh asserted.
Meanwhile, a police source revealed that the dead body was recovered by police from the kitchen after smashing the locks of the house. He said that the lady threw the dead body in kitchen and ran away by putting locks on the doors of her house.
