7 killed in violence, arms recovered, several arrested in Karachi
Karachi: At least seven persons were killed and several others injured in separate violent incidents in different localities of the city during Wednesday-Thursday midnight.
In Liaquatabad No 2 unknown armed motorcyclists gunned down prayers leader of an Imambargah and fled from the scene.
Dead body of an employee of water board packed in gunny bag was recovered from Altaf Nagar,Orangi Town. Armed men kidnapped a youngster and later dumped his bullet riddled tortured body in Awami Chowk area of Momanabad. Unidentified armed assailants shot to death a teenager in Orangi Town area and managed to escape.
In troubled area of Lyari, at least three persons were killed and several others injured in armed clashes between rival groups. On the other hand heavy contingents of police and the Rangers continued the house to house search operation in Lyari which remained a virtual battleground the other day.
The security forces blocked the vehicular and pedestrian traffic by erecting pickets around various areas of Lyari.
Two students of a seminary stated to be real brothers were injured when unknown motorcyclists opened fire at them in Block-12 of Gulistan-e-Joher.
