Gangsters have a heyday in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Gangsters made a day, especially in the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station, giving a ‘warm welcome’ to the new station house officer (SHO) who took charge of the police station a few hours back. The gangs took away gold, cash and a car in four hits in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station. While, the criminals targeted seven places in the city. Four armed dacoits targeting a shop in Chaklala Scheme-III snatched away Rs76,000 cash and valuables from Waqas Nawaz, a customer present in the shop.
In another incident, the same gang of four, looted a house of one Waseem Javed in Dhoke Ameer, falling in the jurisdiction of same police station and took away 15 tolas of gold ornaments and cash after holding a family at gunpoint. While, the four-member gang held pedestrian, Asif Razzaq at Hammad Chowk and fled away after snatching Rs15,000 in the broad daylight.
In another incident, carjacking gang lifted a Toyota Corolla car bearing registration number NW-686-ICT from the Airport Housing Scheme, Toyota Corolla RLA-899 from Gulshan Dadan Khan and Toyota Corolla FDQ-8455 from Saddar, Wah Cantonment.
Meanwhile, the gang of four, riding on two bikes, targeted a person, Karamat Hussain and his family, snatched Rs80,000 in cash and gold ornament after holding them at gunpoint in Noor Market in the jurisdiction of Waris Khan Police Station and ran away.
