Bail of Lahore factory owners extended
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhary Nazeer Ahmad on Monday extended for one day the interim bail of three medicine factory owners which had caved in allegedly due to a boiler explosion claiming 24 lives. The court extended bails of Zafar Iqbal, Zaheer Iqbal and Zubair Iqbal by February 21 (today) as the petitioner’s counsel was absent. The Sabzazar Police had registered a case against the factory owners — Zafar Iqbal, Zaheer and Zubair — under Section 302/149, 324/ 427, 290/ 291 of PPC.
According to the FIR, the accused were stopped from establishing their factory in a residential area many times but they did not care about it. The inhabitants had also expressed their apprehensions in this regard. According to the FIR, the owners had violated labor laws and established the factory in a residential area.
