Lahore: Factory owners’ bail extended
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Nazeer Ahmad, once again, on Tuesday extended one-day interim bail of three owners of the medicine factory which had caved in allegedly due to a boiler explosion, claiming 24 lives. The court extended bails of Zafar Iqbal, Zaheer Iqbal and Zubair Iqbal until February 22 (today) as the petitioner’s counsel Khurram Latif Khosa was absent again.
As per case details, Sabzazar Police had registered a case against the factory owners, under section 302/149, 324/ 427, 290/ 291 of the PPC. The FIR stated that the accused were stopped many times from establishing their factory in a residential area but to no avail.
The inhabitants of the area had also expressed their apprehensions. However, on February 6, a boiler explosion claimed the lives of 24 people, including women and children.
