Lahore: Rs3m PR copper wire stolen
LAHORE: Copper wire worth about Rs3 million has been stolen from 14 dysfunctional locomotives parked at the Loco Shed here. It should be noted here that each engine contains six copper leads and the weight of each lead is 10 kilograms.
An official of the Railways police told this scriber on Tuesday that the department was investigating the matter, but with no FIR yet. On the other hand, a Railways official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that the wire was not stolen but was placed in other locomotives by the Loco Shed staff. The PR had recently corrected some engines by placing the wire of the grounded ones in them, he claimed.
