Lahore: Security guard shot dead
LAHORE: A security guard was shot dead by his rivals over an old enmity in the Defence-A police area on Thursday. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Akhtar Khan, a resident of Mansehra. Police said Akhtar Khan was here in the City for the last 16 years as he was working as a security guard at the house of a mill owner, Muhammad Asghar, located in Punjab Housing Society.
Police said Akhtar had an old enmity with Tasleem Khan and his family as Tasleem Khan Group had shot dead Akhtar Khan’s father in law and real uncle over a minor dispute some 16 years ago. Police said Akhtar was pursuing the murder case of his father -in-law and uncle over which Tasleem and his family nursed grudge against him.
On the day of the incident, Akhtar was standing out of the house of Muhammad Asghar where Tasleem and his accomplices reached and opened fires on Akhtar. Akhtar sustained serious bullet wounds and died instantly. Police have removed the body to morgue and started investigating the matter.
