Malakwal: Torture of a woman; Police fail to register case despite court order
MALAKWAL: The police have failed to register a case against a sub-inspector, who tortured a woman, despite court order. Rasoolan Bibi of Bahoowal, in an application to the additional sessions judge, stated that on January 10, she with her two women relatives was working in fields when Chot Dheeran police post in-charge SI Nazir Ahmad Sahi and constables started harassing them. She said that the SI also tortured and stopped them from working. The court ordered the Malakwal SHO to register a case against the SI.
When she visited the police station, the SHO refused to receive the court order and register a case against the SI. When contacted, the duty officer denied the allegations and claimed that they had not received the court order.
