Karachi: 5 `hit men` held in Korangi
KARACHI: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested five men allegedly belonging to the proscribed Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan and recovered weapons from their possession. The CID police said that a police team carried out a raid in Allahwala Town in the Korangi Industrial Area and after an encounter arrested the five suspects — Mohammad Ibrahim, Shakeel Malik, Hazrat Anees, Niazullah and Abdul Jalil Anwar — and recovered two hand grenades, two Kalashnikovs, three TT pistols and several rounds from their possession.
They said that during interrogation the suspects disclosed their involvement in the murders of eight persons in different parts of the city.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly killed Kazim Ali, Ghulam Hussain alias Fauji and Dilawar in North Nazimabad; Imran Abbas in Taimoria, Syed Zakir Hussain Shah in Saeedabad, Syed Zakir Ali in Orangi Town, Nayyar Abbas in Mominabad and Abdul Jabbar in Orangi Town.
The suspects also disclosed that they had carried out a grenade attack in the Pirabad area in 2011 in which two Shia men were injured, the police added.
