Karachi: Man jailed for 3 years
KARACHI: A judicial magistrate sentenced on Tuesday a man to three years in prison for carrying an unlicensed weapon. The police booked Umair Khan under Section 13-D of the Pakistan Arms Ordinance in Jan 2009 at the Gizri police station. Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Jahangir Khan also imposed a fine Rs15,000 and in case of non-payment he would have to suffer an additional three-month imprisonment.
The police arrested Umair and Mohammad Ali Hajano in Jan 2009 and found illicit weapons in their custody.
A case against accused Hajano under Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance is also pending trial before the court.
Both the men were booked in over 30 cases. However, they have so far been acquitted in seven cases.
