ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) have seized 1419 kilograms narcotics from different parts of the country during the month of March. According to official report, on March 6, ANF Peshawar intercepted a wagon and recovered 149 kg heroin at Peshawar and arrested one person.
LAHORE: The Race Course police on Friday registered a case against former Punjab chief minister Dost Mohammad Khosa for kidnapping actress Sapna. The case was registered on the complaint of Misal Khan, the father of actress Sapna Khan, who alleged that PML-N leader Dost Mohammad Khosa had kidnapped her to kill her. Other persons nominated in the FIR include Sajjad Ahmad, Shabbir Daud Butt, Muhammad Naeem Amjad, Rana Tanvir, Javed, Yaseen and Shahid. The case was registered on the order of the Lahore High Court.
KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, in raids against criminals in various areas of the metropolis last night arrested 14 suspects. A Rangers statement on Friday said that targeted actions were taken in wake of wave of unrest and violence during the past couple of days.
WAH CANTT: The Saddar Police arrested on Friday an alleged terrorist stated to be a member of a banned outfit. Arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession. Addressing a press conference at the police station, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, DSP Raja Taifoor Akhtar said after receiving a tip-off, a police party led by Inspector Muhammad Khan raided a hideout and nabbed Faisal Irfan (38) near Brahma Interchange and recovered two hand–grenades, one sub–machine gun, two magazines and 70 rounds from his possession.
OKARA: About 2,400kg meat of dead chickens was recovered from 10 shopkeepers who had been supplying the meat not only in the local market, but to Lahore, Daska, Muridke and some cities of Sindh.
KHANEWAL: DPO Waqar Abbasi has said that police have arrested 10 members of an inter-district dacoit gang and recovered booty worth Rs 13 million from them. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that the police raided and arrested ringleader Ghazanfar Ali of Narang Mandi, Mubarik, Yaseen, Falak Sher of Lahore, Shafiq, Muhammad Iqbal, Asghar, Rashid, Adnan and Riasat while nine other dacoits managed to escape.
DASKA: The City police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender involved in a double murder case. Imtiaz Ahmed had killed Boota and Rizwan with a sharp-edged weapon last month.
LAHORE: National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has foiled four attempts of dacoities by prompt action and rounded up seven dacoits from whom illegal arms and ammunition were recovered.
KARACHI: The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) arrested 149 illegal migrant workers near the coastal area of Gwadar on Friday. PCG officials intercepted several vehicles and took into custody 122 Aghan nationals and 27 Pakistanis who were travelling towards the Gulf states via Iran. The detainees have been handed over to the FIA for further interrogation.
LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday arrested Pakistan Railways (PR) General Manager (GM) Operations Saeed Akhtar just after three days of his reappointment by the prime minister on the key post. Akhtar is considered very close associate of Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour. Gilani had reappointed him as GM Operations on a one-year extension which was likely to be extendable for another year.
