Lahore: Killer gets death
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain on Wednesday awarded death sentence to a man on charges of stabbing a person to death. The court has directed convict Rasheed alias Sheeda to pay Rs 200,000 as compensation to the heirs to victim Muhammad Mansha. In case of default on payment of fine, the convict will undergo six months jail term. The judge also awarded five years jail term to the convict under section 324 of Pakistan Penal Code for seriously injuring his wife.
According to the FIR registered in Raiwand police station, Majeed Aslam, brother of the deceased, stated that he and his brother Muhammad Mansha gave a room to Abdur Rasheed on rent. A scuffle erupted between Abdur Rasheed and his wife Parveen. Over hue and cry, his brother intervened to pacify them but Abdur Rasheed attacked on him with knifes who succumbed to his injuries. On Wednesday, the judge awarded death sentence to the accused after the prosecution proved him guilty in murder case.
