Karachi: 2 ‘bandits’ killed
KARACHI: A man lost his life resisting robbers and two alleged bandits were gunned down in incidents of robbery on Thursday. Two men riding a motorcycle intercepted a vehicle of Nazeeruddin, 27, near Baldia Town No. 9 in the Saeedabad police limits. At gunpoint, they told him to hand over cash and valuables. When he put up resistance they opened fire and fled with the booty, leaving him in a pool of blood. The injured died while being taken to the Civil Hospital by police.
In another incident, two bandits riding a motorcycle intercepted a vehicle of Sub-Inspector Lukman Shah near Paracha Chowk in Shershah, and at gunpoint told him to hand over all cash and valuables.
In the meantime, a police mobile arrived there. The bandits opened fire at the police mobile, which was retaliated. During the shootout, one bandit was injured while the other managed to flee.
During the initial interrogation, the injured identified himself as Muhammad Rafeeq Baloch. He succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital.
In yet another incident, an alleged bandit was killed by a member of the public in Landhi.
Two men riding a motorcycle intercepted a vehicle near Landhi 36-B. They told the motorist at gunpoint to hand over all his cash and other valuables. However, some members of the public caught the bandit and one of them snatched his pistol and shot him. His accomplice managed to escape.
After being called to the scene, police took the injured to the Sindh Government Hospital, where during the initial interrogation he identified himself as Sajid. The 25-year-old later died from his wounds.
