Karachi: 73 people died last week
KARACHI: Seventy–three persons lost their lives last week, of whom 13 were shot dead, 24 were murdered, two burnt to death, one committed suicide, one drowned, and 13 died in accidents. Ten bodies were recovered.
At least 887 robberies were committed, in which 374 mobile phones, 87 cars and 150 motorcycles were snatched. People were robbed of valuables in 276 other incidents of robberies in all. Three–hundred-and-fifty–nine thefts were reported in which 104 cars and 163 motorcycles were taken away from the different parts of the metropolis.
According to the police data, 157 miscreants were arrested and 266 stolen articles were recovered. All cases of robbery and theft were confirmed by the police.
PREVIOUS WEEK: Some 78 people lost their lives last week. Of them, 15 were shot dead, 14 were murdered, four burnt to death, one committed suicide and three drowned, while 10 bodies were recovered and 31 died in accidents.
At least 852 robberies were committed in which 324 mobile phones and 113 cars and 140 motorcycles were snatched, while people were deprived of valuables in 275 other robbery incidents. Some 370 cases of theft were reported last week in which 123 cars and 177 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis.
According to the police data, 105 miscreants were arrested and 208 articles were recovered.
