Mianwali: Man confesses to killing wife 8 months ago
MIANWALI: A man on Friday confessed to killing his wife eight months ago. According to details, Asad Iqbal, a resident of Head Pucca, reported to Sadr police that he and his wife Nusrat Bibi were on way when their motorcycle fell into Thal Canal on June 27, 2011. As a result, his wife drowned. Three days later the body of Nusrat was recovered from the canal.
Ghulam Mustafa, the brother of the deceased’s woman, told the police that Asad Iqbal had killed her. On this, the police sent the body parts to a laboratory in Islamabad. In the medical report, it was revealed that she was murdered. After receiving the medical report, the police on suspicion arrested Asad Iqbal. During investigation, Asad confessed to killing his wife. He said he had developed relations with Sarwar Bibi residing in his neighborhood but could not marry her due to strict conditions written in Nikah Nama, including Rs 1 million fine if the husband contracted another marriage and Rs 5,000 pocket money. He said the strict conditions in the Nikah Nama forced him to kill his wife.
