Islamabad: Customs seize contrabands worth over Rs 10 million, 5 smugglers arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence Islamabad on Monday recovered smuggled items worth more than Rs 10 million from two vehicles and arrested five smugglers. According to an official, 58,000 yards of cloth, iron and spare parts were recovered from a bus from the motorway.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation staff also recovered 8,000 kilogrammes of a Kenyan branded tea, green tea and other items from a truck and arrested five smugglers; Jan Muhammad, Ghulam Sabir, Khalid Rahim, Fayaz Hussain and Wahab Ali.
Further investigation is underway. According to the official, the smugglers offered resistance before being arrested.
