Karachi: Suspect remanded till March 11
KARACHI: The lone suspect nominated in the murder case of five members of a family was remanded in police custody on Wednesday till March 11.
Mohammad Ishaq, a former driver of the family, was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate (South) Mumtaz Ali Solangi after being booked for allegedly murdering five members of a family – Arif Yousuf (68), his wife Zainab Bibi (60), their son Zubair Arif (30) and his wife Aliya (30), and daughter Nida (14).
They were found dead at their Askari Apartments residence in the Saddar police limits on February 29. The police took Ishaq into custody on Tuesday. He reportedly confessed to the police to having committed the offence with the motive of robbing the family.
The police traced the suspect after he inserted his own SIM card in Arif’s cell phone. The family had hired him as driver some six months ago. The police also seized valuables, including cash and mobile phones, from Ishaq’s possession.
