Karachi: Suspect held in JPMC doctor’s murder case
KARACHI: The Malir City police on Thursday arrested a suspect in the murder case of Dr Najia Bhutto. According to the police, on a tip-off on the suspect in the murder case of Dr Najia Bhutto, a doctor of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center who was gunned down on October 26 last year in the Airport police jurisdiction, a police team raided a hideout in their area and arrested the accused, Zain Shah.
During an initial interrogation, the accused allegedly told the police that he, along with his accomplices, had barged into the bungalow of Dr Najia Bhutto in the Civil Aviation Authority Colony, raped her and then shot her dead.
The accused said that they took jewelry and other valuables from the house in order to deceive the police into believing that the doctor had been killed upon resisting the robbery.
