Rawalpindi: Robbers injure man on resistance
RAWALPINDI: A citizen was injured seriously by four unknown armed dacoits on offering resistance during a dacoity incident in the limits of Police Station (PS) RA Bazaar. Although police filed a case against the unknown armed men on the complaint of the victim yet they are trying their level best to hush up the incident, apparently to save its skin that might be in danger owing to high crime rate in the city, informed reliable sources here on Thursday.
According to sources, Sardar Tahir, who runs a hotel on contract, was going his home located at Adra Eidgah on 6/3/2012 when four unidentified armed men intercepted him near his home and started looting him at gunpoint and on resistance the bandits opened fire, injuring Tahir critically.
The bandits looted Rs 7000 cash and 2 mobile phones and fled from the crime scene.
Police, upon getting information, reached at the spot and shifted the injured person to hospital for medical treatment and later registered a case against the robbers with no arrest so far. Well-placed sources, nonetheless, said that SHO PS RA Bazaar was in hot waters owing to the increasing crime rate in its jurisdiction and giving turn to the incident as a routine incident despite registering a robbery case.
Similarly, a Suzuki carry van bearing registration number QZ-921 was snatched from a person at gunpoint in the precinct of PS Westridge while FX taxi cab (JGA–1314) of Ifran Bhatti was also lifted from the area of PS Civil Line. A car (AC–3748) owned by Hayyat Ullah has been pilfered from the limits of PS New Town and another car (RA–702) was also lifted from area of PS Banni. The Suzuki carry van (RLA–8029) of Sajid Bhatti was mugged by unknown carjackers from the jurisdiction of PS Pirwadhai. Police, on the complaints of the victim owners, filed cases against the unknown robbers and launched interrogation.
