Karachi: Father kills girl for refusing to become sex worker
KARACHI: A girl was axed to death by her father on Saturday when she refused to get into prostitution to earn money for the family. In a fit of rage, Badshah Khan killed his 23–year–old daughter, Saeeda Bibi, when she refused to develop illicit relations with men in the neighbourhood. The murder took place at their home in Sohrab Goth, after which Khan, who hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fled.
After being called to the scene, Police found the dismembered corpse of the girl on the floor.
Bibi’s younger brother told the police that his sister had been a religious person, unlike their father, who had a shady character. He had tried to convince her of getting into prostitution many times, only to be refused by her.
The boy said his sister was frequently beaten up by Khan, who had several times threatened to kill her.
On Saturday afternoon, he entered the house in a bad temper, and insisted that Bibi submit to his demands, and upon her refusal, killed her and escaped. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
