Karachi: Tailor shot dead in shop
KARACHI: A young tailor was shot dead at point–blank range at his shop in Soldier Bazaar No 2 on Sunday, police said. They added that two men walked up to the shop of 23-year-old Jehangir Alam, had a conversation with him and fired at him before fleeing on foot.
“The armed men had earlier requested the tailor to bring them a glass of water and when he returned, they talked with him for a while,” said Soldier Bazaar SHO Khushnud Javed.
He said the attackers might have parked their vehicle in the vicinity before carrying out the murder as apparently they had made off on foot.
The SHO suspected personal enmity as a probable motive behind the killing.
Later, the victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He was a resident of the same area where the incident took place, the police said, adding that a murder case had yet to be lodged.
