Karachi: Witness identifies suspects
KARACHI: An eyewitness picked out two suspects during an identification parade before a judicial magistrate on Saturday in the policeman murder case. A judicial magistrate (east) conducted the identification parade after completing required legal formalities. The suspects were lined up along with dummies and the court called the witness, a policeman, to identify them.
DSP Mumtaz identified Kashif Abro and Ghulam Sarwar and assigned their roles in the commissioning of the offence. According to the prosecution, the suspects had managed to flee after an encounter with police in which Head Constable Jan Mohammad was killed and some other policemen were wounded within the remit of the Sharea Faisal police station in Nov 2010. The CID arrested the suspects a week ago.
A case (FIR 1062/10) was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
