Peshawar: 2 arrested for copyright violation
PESHAWAR: Police have arrested two persons from Mohalla Jhangi for printing books in violation of the Copyright Act on Friday, an official said. Two female writers, Aasia Sultan and Amna Nudrat, had lodged a complaint with the Khan Raziq Shaheed Police Station that their book, which is being taught at the Intermediate level in educational institutions, was being reprint in the market without their permission.
“After lodging the case, we investigated and discovered that one Asadullah was involved in publishing the book in violation of the Copyright Act,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP–investigation) Umar Riaz. The official said another accomplice of the accused, Shah Faisal, was also arrested.
