2 friends shot dead in Lahore
LAHORE: Two close friends were killed by unidentified killers in the Akbari Gate police area on Monday. The victims were identified as Qasim Ali, a resident of the Akbari Gate area and Muhammad Asif, a resident of the Masti Gate area.
Qasim was standing outside his house with his friend Asif when some unidentified armed men approached them and opened fires on them, killing them instantly. Locals of the area spotted the victims lying in a pool of blood and informed police. Police collected forensic evidence and removed the bodies to Mayo Hospital morgue. A case, number 74/12, has been registered against unidentified killers with no clue so far on the complaint of Asif’s maternal uncle Chaudhary Fakhar Hussain.
The Akbari Gate SHO claimed that the deceased men had criminal record and four to five cases of illicit weapons and drugs were registered against them. He said they had not spent last night at their homes and had gone somewhere else. He said that the incident happened straight after the two arrived back at Qasim’s house. He said the killers had brutally murdered Qasim and Asif and had fired several bullets on them, targeting lower parts of their bodies. Sources said Qasim and Asif had rivalry with two different groups.
