Multan: Policeman arrested on charge of bribery
MULTAN: The Anti–Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan on Monday arrested a policeman in Vehari on bribery charge, officials said. SI Muhammad Anwar of Police Station Gaggo, Vehari, was arrested by Assistant Director ACE Vehari after the approval of judicial action by ACE Multan authorities against the accused.
Abdul Hakeem, resident of Burewala, had filed a complaint against the police officer alleging that he had taken Rs 30,000 as gratification from him.
Meanwhile, the assistant director ACE Vehari has also been deputed as inquiry officer on complaint against a Patwari facing charges of taking Rs 10,000 as bribe.
In another case, circle officer ACE Pakpattan has been assigned inquiry against a sub inspector of police station Qaboola facing allegations of receiving Rs 50,000 as gratification from the complainant Dildar Hussain.
