Chemist shot dead in Bajaur
PESHAWAR: Unidentified gunmen killed the owner of a private medical store in Gardai area of Bajaur Agency on Tuesday. The slain tribesman identified as Zaheeruddin was a resident of Mano Dheri and was at his store when the gunmen took him along at gunpoint at 10am.
Later, his bullet–riddled body was found on the roadside, hardly a few hundred metres from the Frontier Corps checkpost. His body had wounds inflicted by daggers and was badly mutilated.
The family sources accused Gran Badshah, Shoaib, Bakht Muneer and Imran, son of Hikmat Jan, of killing Zaheeruddin. The persons are known in the locality as land grabbers. They are also alleged to have killed a government official when they were stopped from illegally occupying the state land. “Being influential they always remained unscathed despite the brutalities they had committed against the poor people,” his family members said.
Tehsildar and in-charge of FC checkpost visited the spot of incident but the first information report was yet to be lodged against the perpetrators of the crime. The residents expressed concern over the killing of the man just at a short distance from the FC checkpost.
