Islamabad: Accused handed to army
ISLAMABAD: A local court on Wednesday handed over the army man, arrested by capital police for carrying hand–grenades and bullets of submachine gun, to Pakistan Army.
The Golra police had arrested Lance Naik Sohail Zafar from a police picket at Sadat Colony and produced him in the court of the area magistrate along with the challan on Wednesday and obtained his three days physical remand.
Later, officials of military police approached the session court and sought the custody of the accused.
The police said that Zafar, in his early 30s, was coming from Wana where he was stationed with a unit which conducting operation against the militants.
The police quoted him as saying that he stole the three grenades and 370 bullets for personal use and kept them in his house in Gujar Khan, district Rawalpindi.
