Lahore: 20 culprits arrested
LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central have arrested 20 culprits involved in dacoity, snatching, theft, carrying illegal firearms, stolen animals etc and recovered three snatched vehicles, arms, ammunitions, stolen wood, animals and other valuables from their possession besides helping three children to reunite with their parents and extinguished flames of a vehicle during last couple of days.
According to details, the officers of NH&MP N-5 Central arrested Khalid, Afzal, Waqas and Akram of Pattoki for carrying illegal kalashnikov and driving under the influence of alcohol. Asif, Zulfiqar, Nawaz, Akram and Ikram were arrested for carrying precious stolen wood loaded in a truck. Similarly, Shabbir, Afzal, Liaqat, Haqnawaz, Qari Zafar and Iqbal of Lodhran involved in highway robberies were arrested and a truck, a 30 bore pistol, 8 mm rifle and peter engine were recovered from their possession. Waheed was arrested for carrying two stolen buffaloes from a Hilux van.
A snatched Hiace was recovered from Irfan and Haroon. Similarly, a trailer loaded with cotton thread worth 0.2 million was also recovered.
On the directions of Zonal Commander N-5 Central SSP Nisar Soroya, the arrested criminals and recovered items were handed over to the local police for further legal action.
Motorway Police N-5 Central also helped eight-year-old Amina, nine-year-old Umar and four-year-old Akmal to reunite with their respective families. Separately, officers of Motorway police helped in extinguishing fire of a trailer loaded with high octane fuel and prevented huge loss.
