Gujranwala: ATC awards death on 12 counts to killer of 6 people 14 years ago
GUJRANWALA: Anti–Terrorism Court Judge Abdul Nasir on Friday awarded death sentence on 12 counts and Rs 1.2 million fine to the last accused, Ahsanullah, in a sextuple murder case registered with Kunjah police station. The judge also awarded him 13-year imprisonment under other sections of the PPC in the same case.
Four other accused, Khan Muhammad, Alam, Latif and Wilayat, had already been convicted in the case while another accused Sajida Bibi had been acquitted on the benefit of the doubt. Ahsanullah was a proclaimed offender in the case and the police had arrested him in June 2011. The prosecution said that the convicts had gunned down Lal Khan, Mehdi Khan, Noor Begum, Nawaz, Riaz and Mushtaq for foiling an abduction bid on May 23, 1998.
