Mardan: Man swindled out of Rs0.1m
MARDAN: Raids were conducted on Sunday to arrest a man who allegedly swindled one person out of Rs0.1 million for getting his relative recruited in the police, sources said. The sources said that one Rasheed Anwar, a resident of Toot Killay, told the police that the accused, Khalid Khan, resident of Swabi district, posed himself as a retired superintendent of police and told him that the district police officer of Mardan was his junior and he would get his relative Mujahid Khan inducted into the police.
The sources said that Rasheed Anwar paid the accused Rs0.1 million for the task. “Khalid Khan rang me up and asked me to come to the DPO office. When I got there he was not present,” the sources quoted him as saying.
Rasheed said that he had given Rs0.1 million and the academic documents of Mujahid Khan to the accused for his appointment in the police. The police registered the first information report under Section 406, 419 and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the accused.
