Hyderabad: Suspect held in railway track blasts
HYDERABAD: Senior Superintendent of Police of Hyderabad district Syed Asad Raza Shah has disclosed that in connection with the recent blasts on the railway tracks a suspect has been nabbed. While briefing the media here on Saturday, the SSP said that the hunt for the other suspects in the same case was underway.
He said that a shadowy group Sindhu Desh Liberation Army had claimed responsibility of the attacks simultaneously carried out in many districts of the province. Talking about the the observance of the black day by the business community in Hyderabad, the SSP said that though the city observed the strike but the traders never complained to him that extortion money was being demanded from them.
“I have been holding regular meetings with their representatives but never such a complain has surfaced,” he said. He asserted that the police was taking all necessary measures to maintain law and order and to curb the street crimes and house break-ins. Detailing about the department’s performance during the last 3 months, he said police had arrested 53 suspected dacoits, 99 drug dealers, 2 extortion seekers and 11 absconders.
