Peshawar: Drugs smuggling
PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Dost Mohammad Khan on Monday observed that the chairman and other senior officials of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) should have resigned over the involvement of the airlines’ crew in drugs smuggling.
The chief justice passed the remarks while hearing a case filed by the stewards of the PIA against their grounding by the authorities. The stewards told the court that they were supposed to perform duty on international flights but they had been grounded.
The PIA had grounded these flight stewards after an attempt by a crewmember to smuggle drugs. Justice Dost Mohammad observed that following the unearthing of the smuggling case the chairman and officers of the PIA should have resigned. The court later adjourned the case.
