Islamabad: Carjackers gang busted
ISLAMABAD: The Koral Police on Wednesday busted a gang of car thieves, including Afghan nationals, who used to strike in various localities, the police spokesman said. SP Faisal Bashir Memon assigned the task to DSP Malik Tahir Mehmud and SHO Sajjad Bukhari to ensure arrest of car thieves who lifted cars from the area in the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station.
Following these directions, a special team was constituted under the supervision of SHO Sajjad Bukhari, which succeeded in arresting six men, including four Afghan nationals, for their alleged involvement in car thefts.
The nabbed men were identified as Adnan, son of Jan, Shah Wali, son of Abdul Aziz Khan, Nur ul Rehman, son of Abdul Rehman, Jan Agha, son of Gul Agha residents of Afghanistan, Irshad, son of Muhammad Ismail, resident of Dhoke Syedan, Rawalpindi, and Mardna Ali, son of Azeem Khan, resident of Bagh.
These auto–thieves confessed to lifting cars from PWD Colony, Korang Town and further investigation is underway from them.
Meanwhile, the Sabzi Mandi Police apprehended six suspects and Aabpara Police nabbed two suspects during search operation in their respective areas. ASI Mumtaz Baig of the Margallah Police arrested two street criminals Ashiat Iqbal and Kamran Ahmed and recovered mobile phones, cash and pistols from their possession.
The Tarnol Police nabbed Ameer after recovery of 112 grams of heroin from him, while the Industrial Area Police recovered stolen a mobile phone from Uzair.
