Karachi: 3 killed in different mishaps
KARACHI: Three people were killed and two others injured in separate mishaps in the city on Wednesday. Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Malir 15 within the limits of Malir City police station.According to witnesses, some people were standing at the bus stop when a speeding contract bus’s tie rod broke and it rammed into the footpath. Resultantly, four people Waheed, 40, Hyder, 42, Azhar, 28 and Hassan, received critical injuries. The vehicle’s driver escaped from the scene however, police impounded his vehicle.
The injured were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where Waheed and Hyder succumbed to their injuries. Police said Waheed was a resident of Liaquat Colony, Malir, while Hyder of Landhi. The case could not be registered till filing of this report.
Separately, a boy was killed in a road accident at Banaras Bridge area in Orangi Town within the limits of Pirabad police station. Saeed, 14, a resident of Farooqui Mohalla, Frontier Colony, was crossing the road along with her mother when a loaded pickup hit him. Resultantly, he received critical injuries and died on the spot. The responsible driver managed to flee, leaving his vehicle there. Police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy. The case could not be registered till filing of this report.
