Meanwhile, police recorded the statement of Ibrahim Katchi, who had sustained injuries during the attack on KRC leader Rasheed Katchi, after he regained senses on Monday night.
However, unidentified armed men again entered various Lyari areas on Tuesday night and resorted to aerial firing, forcing the traders to pull down shutters, as the life in the area came to a halt within half an hour.
Police said that law and order situation occurred in Khada Market, Agra Taj Colony, Nawa Lane, Singo Lane, Jat Pat Market, Cheel Chowk and Aath Chowk. Moreover, the residents of Lyari lodged a protest and torched tyres against the continuous operation by police and Rangers in their area as well as against the closing of football ground.
Meanwhile, in a late night development, law enforcers, including personnel of the AEC, conducted raids in Lyari and rounded up 10 suspects with arms. They also raided the Lyari General Hospital from where they arrested two more suspects, who were receiving treatment for injuries they sustained while allegedly torching a car.
