5 killed in Mardan ambush, ex-minister charged
MARDAN: Five persons including a passer-by were killed when a rival group ambushed them in Galyara village in the limits of Shahbaz Garha Police Station on Sunday, police and local sources said. Former provincial minister and PML-N leader Abdus Subhan Khan was named in the first information report (FIR) registered at the police station by the mother of one of the deceased.
The sources said that Abuzar along with Gul Khan, Moamar and Zafar Ali was on his way to his village when their rivals allegedly opened fire on them. As a result, Abuzar and his companions were killed on the spot while a passer-by, Zarghun Shah, was critically injured.
The injured passer-by and the dead were shifted to the local hospital in Shahbaz Garha. The bodies were handed over to the families for burial after legal formalities.
The police registered the case on the report of Mehnaz Bibi, mother of Abuzar, against Abdus Subhan Khan, former provincial minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz, Saeed Khan, Naeem Khan, Khalid Khan, Zarawar, Waqar, Lakhkar Khan, Salamat, Haider Ali, Kamran, Ihsan, Farzand and Khan Bahadur. The police have started investigating the incident.
