Rawalpindi: 26 gamblers among 45 lawbreakers arrested
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have arrested 45 lawbreakers including 26 gamblers and one suspected dacoit from various areas of the city and seized 1675 grams charas, 1025 grams heroin, 98 bottles of liquor, three pistols 30 bor with three rounds and one dagger from them. According to police spokesman, 18 outlaws were apprehended in different raids and police recovered drugs, liquor and illegal weapons from their possession.
Meanwhile, Gungmandi police on a tip-off raided a gambling den in Mohanpura and arrested 10 gamblers identified as Inam, Ejaz, Ahsan, Irfan, Zeeshan, Sagheer, Bashir, Shahid, Hussain and Ishtiaq and recovered stake money amounting to Rs 15850 and five mobile phones.
In another raid, Peerwadhai police conducted a raid and arrested eight accused namely Hashim, Sajjad, Zeeshan, Imtiaz, Zahid, Bashrat, Abdul Razaq and Sajjad red-handed and recovered Rs 22,100 stake money with one mobile phone. Kalar Seydian police on an information also conducted a raid and held eight gamblers identified as Zafar, Akhtar, Rafaqat, Ulfat, Sajid, Latif, Abdul Waheed and Sajid and recovered Rs 45000 stake money.
Banni police arrested a suspected dacoit namely Ghazanfer from Khoshi Muhammad Park area and recovered one pistol 30 bore with five rounds. Separate cases have been registered against all the accused and investigation is underway.
