Islamabad: Gang of dacoits busted
ISLAMABAD: A five-member gang involved in robberies was busted by the Golra Police and cash, illegal weapons and looted items were recovered from their possession, the police spokesman said on Tuesday. The gangsters were identified as Nasrullah, Ahmed Ali, Nosher, Saifullah, residents of Chiniot, and Khalid Mehmud, resident of ‘Dherek Mohri’, Islamabad. The gang members confessed to their involvement in several dacoities in Chiniot, Jhang, Faisalabad and Islamabad.
The busted dacoits remained jailbirds. Accused Nosher is a proclaimed offender and wanted by the Islamabad and Punjab police in various cases. The gang used to loot motorists at deserted places. Police have also obtained their physical remand from the concerned court and further investigation is underway from them.
The team, headed by SHO Golra Police Station Qasim Niazi, busted the gang after SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiani formed it to control incidents of dacoity. The gang of dacoits was active in Punjab. Looted items, cash, a pistol and guns were also recovered from the gang.
