Karachi: 6 jailed in fraud case
KARACHI: Accountability Court No. II on Wednesday convicted and awarded five-year imprisonment each to Akbar Zardari and Abdul Rasheed for their involvement in misappropriation of funds and fake allotment orders of shops in New Sabzi Mandi.
The court headed by the judge, Syed Kausar Bukhari, also convicted and awarded three-year imprisonment to each of the four other convicts Aziz-ur-Rehman, Ghulam Muhammad Memon, Muhammad Ayaz Khan and Khadim Hussain in the case.
The case was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh in 2005 against the accused for issuing fake allotment orders of shops in New Sabzi Mandi as members of a market committee, causing losses of Rs17 million to the Sindh government.
