Karachi: SHC moved for bail cancellation in murder case
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued a notice to prosecutor-general on an application seeking cancellation of bail of accused charged with killing his daughter-in-law. Applicant Mohammad Omer submitted in the petition that his sister, Tooba, was killed by her husband Mohammad Asif and father-in-law Syed Hamid Ali on October 1, 2011, in Buffer Zone.
According to the prosecution, accused Mohammad Asif, who desired to father a son, allegedly murdered his four months pregnant wife, Tooba, when ultrasound report disclosed that she was four-months pregnant with a baby girl. Tooba was found dead in her house in Buffer Zone, Karachi, on October 1, 2011.
The applicant’s counsel submitted that trial court granted bail to co-accused Syed Hamid Ali and prayed the court to cancel the bail application. The court after preliminary hearing of the petition issued notice to the prosecutor-general and the respondent co-accused.
