Lahore: Man held over death threats to Raja Riaz
LAHORE: Central Intelligence Police (CIA) on Wednesday arrested a man on charges of extending life threats on phone to Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly (PA) Raja Riaz. The opposition leader, about a month ago, had informed police about threatening calls and messages he was receiving from an unknown number. He had even blamed Punjab chief minister for the entire fiasco.
After receiving these complaints, the law enforcement agencies started investigation into the matter and obtained complete data of the unknown number from the concerned mobile company.
As per the initial investigation report, the arrested man was identified as Shakir Nadeem, resident of Nawankot area. The detainee was presented in the local court that gave orders of a physical remand. Further investigations are underway.
