Karachi: 2 women among three commit suicide in City
KARACHI: Three persons including two women committed suicide in different parts of the metropolis on Thursday. A man shot himself dead in his chemical shop near Chandani Chowk within the New Town police limits. Mehboob Alam, 42, a resident of Al Mustafa Arcade Bahadurabad, shot himself dead at the chemical shop in front of Old Subzi Mandi.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico–legal formalities. The police said the victim suffered a loss in business therefore he committed suicide. He is survived by two children. A few weeks ago, tried to commit suicide as well.
A mother of two children committed suicide by jumping from a building in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the limits of Sharah Faisal police. Ihsrat, 48, jumped from the 9th floor of Empire Building at Block 20 and died on the spot.
Police shifted her body to the JPMC for autopsy. She was a resident of Nazimabad and her husband left her in her brother’s house along with two children. Later her husband took away the body without completing any legal formalities.
In another incident, Rabia, 16, swallowed poisonous pills in Bihar Colony Lyari in the limits of Chakiwara police. Her father told the police that his daughter took poisonous substance due to unknown reason.
