Karachi: Abducted woman’s husband receiving threats
KARACHI: Muhammad Imran, whose wife was allegedly kidnapped by accused Manthar Jamali, has now complained that his life was under threat as the accused Jamali was threatening him with dire consequences. In this case, which is being heard by the court of Additional District and Sessions, East, the accused had obtained bail before arrest, but when the trial court rejected his bail plea, he ran away.
It is interesting to note that the Sindh High Court (SHC) had taken serious note of the act of the accused and issued arrest warrants against him. It is alleged that certain corrupt elements in the police department and lawyer community had assisted the accused in his escape.
The accused is alleged to have kidnapped Saima Iram and demanded a huge sum as ransom for her release. Although the police had recovered Saima from the possession of Manthar Jamali, they failed to arrest him.
